Adaego is an Igbo (of Nigeria) name that means “daughter of wealth”.
The Omani triangle ornament featured in this necklace is supreme and splendid. It was originally used to hold women’s headscarves in place. There would have been two ornate decorated triangles on either side of the head, and chains would have hung from the silver wire loops at the base of each ornament, which would have wrapped under the chin to secure the headscarf in place. The triangular section is stamped with gold discs and a prominent crescent moon in an intricately patterned centre triangle. A double row of links with gold diamond shapes is suspended from the base of the triangle by elaborately twisted wire chain.

It is a rare and highly collectible stone as it is found only along the remote Northwest coast of Madagascar at the edge of the ocean. It is also known as Ocean Jasper and the Atlantis Stone as it was found in the turn of the New Millennium and is believed to be linked to the ancient city. It draws soothing energy from the element water and its cleansing effect eliminates negative energy. It is worn as a talisman of patience and protection; the orbs or “eyes” enhance this in regard to protection from the “evil eye”.
