Asma Necklace

Asma is an Arabic name that means “supreme” as is the beautiful statement gold silver Omani triangle pendant featured in this necklace.

It was originally used to hold women’s headscarves in place and the entire piece consisted of two ornate decorated triangles on either side of the head. Chains would have hung from the silver wire loops at the base of each ornament, which would wrap under the chin to secure the headscarf in place.  The triangular section is stamped with gold discs and a prominent crescent moon sits within the intricately patterned centre triangle. A double row of links with gold diamond shapes is suspended from the base of the triangle by elaborately twisted chain.

Orbicular Madagascar Jasper beads complement the pendant perfectly. They display distinctive orb and spherical inclusions in a striking splash of colours. It is a rare and highly collectible stone as it is found only along the remote Northwest coast of Madagascar at the edge of the ocean. It is also known as Ocean Jasper and the Atlantis Stone as it was found in the turn of the New Millennium and is believed to be linked to the ancient city.

Orbicular Jasper draws soothing energy from the element water and its cleansing effect eliminates negative energy. It is worn as a talisman of patience and protection. The orbs or “eyes” enhance this in regard to protection from the “evil eye”.

This truly unique piece of jewellery is an exquisite collector’s item that will always make you stand out from the crowd.
