Pangolin Silver Plated Bangle

The Pangolin Silver Plated Bangle is eye-catching and unique, and sure to be your new favourite accessory. Significantly, it celebrates the pangolin and wearing it shows your support for the protection of these heavily trafficked animals. Feel empowered through the strength and resilience that they represent.

Protective Nature of the Pangolin

The pangolin, also known as the scaly anteater, is one of the world’s most trafficked mammals. This is due to the belief in some cultures that their scales have special medicinal properties. Conversely, the scales are made of keratin – the same protein that makes up human hair and nails!

Its name comes from the Malay word ‘penggulung’, which means ‘one that rolls up’. When threatened, a pangolin will curl up tightly into a ball which is impenetrable to predators. Its scales provide an armour-like defence in this regard and represent protection. Similarly, we also adopt a guarded disposition to protect ourselves from danger.

The pangolin’s scientific genus name Manis is derived from the Latin ‘manes’. This means ‘ghost’ or ‘spirit of the dead’. It acknowledges its secretive, nocturnal habits and as well as unusual scaled appearance.

Although solitary, they are incredible resilient and can fend for themselves. It shows the strength and sense of contentment that can come from being independent.

May the pangolin encourage you to tune into your environment and heighten your perception. Tap into your innate wisdom and strength to protect yourself. Pair this with the Pangolin Silver Plated Earrings to create a sophisticated and eye-catching look.

The Power of Nature

Nature is more powerful, creative, and ingenious than we believe. With patience, it can eliminate any obstacle from its way. Nature teaches us how to allow our work to flourish naturally, with no concern for obstacles and limits.” Anonymous
