Sadaf is a name of Arabic origin and means “seashell”. This incredible shell fossil statement necklace features fossils that are millions of years old. Fossils, from the Latin word fossus, literally meaning “having been dug up”, are the preserved remains or traces of animals, plants, and other organisms from the remote past. These wondrous shell fossils are an ancient creation of organic sea life transformed into a crystallised state, and what makes them so unique is that they are composed of Agate. When you hold them up to a bright light, they are partially translucent and possess a lovely yellowish-orange hue. These shell fossils come from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco.

The shell fossils are separated by orange Agate beads and brass spacers from West Africa. Orange Agate offers courage, balance and endurance to body, mind, and spirit. It centres physical energy and stabilises the aura, and helps achieve emotional, physical and intellectual balance. It is also said to be the stone of determination, persistence and right action.

The long cylindrical brass beads from West Africa have an interesting coil design with a raised rope like texture on both ends and in the middle. These beads are hand crafted using the lost wax casting method whereby the mould is broken after every cast; this results in each piece being a unique work of art in contrast to mass produced casting.

This extraordinary necklace is finished with a gold fill clasp, chain and SHIKHAZURI charm.
