“The living moment is everything.” D.H. Lawrence
It’s one of the busiest times of the year, whether it’s ensuring those work tasks are closed off before 2016 draws to an end, meeting certain goals, or just a mad rush preparing for the holidays – finding the perfect gift, sourcing the finest ingredients to make your Christmas roast more delectable than last year, or getting everything in order for your vacation.
So I’ll keep this one short and sweet.
What do the holidays mean to you?
Gatherings with family and friends
Festive celebrations
Winding down and taking a break
Indulging in festive treats
Shopping sprees
Treating yourself
Giving generously
Going on vacation
Reflecting on the past year
Whatever combination it may be, take time to really live in the moment of that experience. As you do, think about why you leave it until the end of the year to do this? Wouldn’t it be great to consistently incorporate these elements throughout the year?
Easier said than done, I know, but I’m certainly going to give it a go. Why not take an early resolution to bring a bit of the holidays into your everyday story in 2017.
As Eckhart Tolle said,
“Realise deeply that the present moment is all you ever have.”
Happy Holidays!
